i painted the section between my taillights flat black yesturday because i was bored and didn't have the parts to fix my motor. what do you think? i'm going to tint the tails today.

 

I think it lookss great.... Thats the one mod that universally looks good on every new edge.

 

now it just needs the bottom of the bumper! looks like its missing something!!

what kind/brand of paint did you use?

what kind of tips do you have to make sure there isnt any runs in the paint, etc??

i have been thinking about doing this for a while.....just kind of scared to paint it myself.

 

did you just tape over the badges? or did you remove them?

 

i painted my third brake light and side reflectors, also painted my dirt bike frame with PJ1 Fast Black...its gloss not flat though.... and if you use a spray can and wet sand and take your time you will not have any runs

look at PJ1 paint, i love it....motorcycle paint, but oh well

 

looks good...should have did it glossy though...im going to take my vinyl off and paint it...

 

no way...flat > glossy for that color stang...just needs to do the bumper section now

 

so you sand it down too, before you paint it.....makes sense.

so do you sand it, untill its rough and all scratched up...and then paint it?

i just know im gonna fugg somethin up, if i try this.....but i've been thinking about doing it for months now.

 

i just got automotive tape, masked everything off with that, rags, and magazine paper. i taped over my emblems. i used an automotive grade spray paint from advanced auto. it was only like $5.
not doing the bottom of my bumper, but i'm working on my wing right now. it's getting sanded, and them painted flat black as well.

 

gimme some details on the sanding, please?

im seriously considering doing this today, but i have no painting experience at all.
