hey guys i have a quick off topic question...is the T-45 tranny more durable then the 3650 or something???...cuz i have an 01 myself..same color as 01GT4.6, and its the early model with the T-45
I don't want to turn this into a debate but my T-45 is strong. I know of people on here that have had issues with theirs and some have had it replaced or rebuilt mulitple times and I know I shouldn't say this because I'll p!ss someone off but maybe they need to learn how to drive. I can stick someone behind the wheel of my car that doesn't know how to drive a stick and let them abuse it and I'm sure they tranny won't like it. But as for me and my tranny. I didn a motor swap at 121k miles, pulled the tranny and everything out at once, swapped the motor and didn't think twice about putting my STOCK T-45 back in (it now has like 128k miles). And before anyone says anything... I race my car. My car has made waaaaayyyyyy more torque than the tranny was rated for and never skipped a beat. I'm sure it won't last forever and it's time is coming (sooner or later) but as of now the old stocker is doing fine and still shift like butter.

cool...mine has 81,000 miles on it...ive done some gear grindin myself...trying to shift to fast [:@]...haha, but what i meant was toward nitrous...a friend of mine says he has gone through a couple of trannys with a 125 shot wet kit....but he has 315 D/R in the back...is it the nitrous plus these tires that is causing im to replace trannys or just the kick from thenitrous itself?

I may be wrong but I say it's the driver. He may not have the clutch adjusted right but even then that would fall back on him. I've run nitrous for 5+ years on a fairly regular basis (I kept a 50# cylinder at my house so I always had it on hand). I ran all day on 315 nitto drag radials and would run on slicks at the track, picking the wheel of the ground and my tranny is fine. It's not the launch that hurts it, it's the shifting.

I agree, it's all in the driver.

If you are setting high goals, and really wanting a certain timeslip, there's no other attitude to have. Unless you are very very rich, and can buy the best of everything. Beat the hell out of it, and fix what breaks.
