Default CLUTCH INSTALL..FAILED.....

AGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! after 7 and a half hours of cursing i still dont have my new clutch and flywheel in. it started with 1 1/2 hours to get the h pipe off, the nuts were rusted on so bad..... pb blaster didnt help much (they were really rusted)!!!!! well we got that off, unhooked all the sensors, unbolted the driveshaft, unhooked the clutch cable and shifter then started on the starter got 2 of the 3 bolts off and no matter what we did couldnt get to that damn bolt on the top.......after a trip to the parts store for more swivelsand3 hours later, still no luck....i was fed up buy then so i decided to put it back together and just do it later. sooo i start to hook everthing back up and then got to the h pipe.....to find that when removing the nuts the threads decided to come off too!!!! WHAT THE FU*K?!?!?!?!?!? Now3 of the 4exaust manifold bolts have no threads and the nuts were missing threads 2... i hadto put the h pipe back on to get back home so i have 1 nut back on the driverside and 1 cross threaded nut on the passanger side......what to do now.. i have2 really bad exaust leaksand the exaust shop wants 70.00 per hour and said it could take 6-8or more hours to replace the fu*ked up bolts thats560.00 or i could buy new bbkshorty headers for 300.00 and pay 300 for install.........AND have to cough up another 550.00 for the trans shop to install my clutch and flywheel.....MOTHER FU*KER!!!!!!!!!! WELL THIS TURNED OUTTO BE ONE SH*TTY WEEKEND

SORRY FOR THE LONG AZZ POST BUT I REALLY HAD TO VENT, IM ABOUT READY TO JUSTDRIVE IN TO A TREE AND TOTAL IT...

Wow man, sorry about your luck. But I'm with you, I think this would be a good time to upgrade to some headers. I would go with l/t's and get a shorty mid-pipe but thats even more money lol so I see why you want the shorties.

Take a step back!!!!! Getting frustrated won't help. If you need to, just wait until tomorrow and start again.Go drink a few cold one and don't think about it. Bud Light FTW

i would try it again tomarrow but the bolts that are in the stock manifolds that holds the h pipeare shot!!!!! i cant reuse any of them. an exaust shop is my only option unless i want to try to c clamp the drivers side together and i dont know what i could do to the passanger side. if i calm down i will go out and get some pictures to show you what i am talking about.

and i dont drink and quit any drugs 6 weeks ago.[&o]

you really need to step back from this one. Anytime you attempt stuff like this make sure you have a good propane torch of some kind to really heat the bolts up. As far as the starter, a second person there is great because one can look through the wheel well while guiding you to the bolt. were you doing this on a lift or on your back? I have done it on my back multiple times and it just keeps getting easier

Yeah step back take a deep breath. The bolts on the stock manifolds are a bitch to get out but only because of the tight space. Look at them they are square at the ends. Find a small socket that will fit them and take them out and replace them. It is doable.

On a mustang with a stock K member you have to go from the front to get that top bolt on the starter. Try removing the a/c compressor. I sure don't miss haveing the stock K member, only takes 5 min now to remove the starter.

Have fun with the top bolts on the tranny and remember to remove the crossmember and tilt the tranny/engine back (drain tranny first). Remember 7 bolts holding the tranny to the block.

well we torched the drivers side and then tryed the top one,it snapped off,did the bottom one on drivers side it came off and so did the threads. passanger side the top (i mean the farthest outside bolt) came off no problem but the inner bolt (the one that you need a swivel to get to) took the threads off with it also then the nut crossthreaded back on only half way. i didnt have a lift my dad and i did this on our backs with the car on jackstands. trust me we did everthing we could, my dad was a mechanic for 33+years. as for the top starter bolt we just couldnt get it off its like it was seziedin there. we used about 18 inches of extenions and 2 swivelsbut no luck. 1/4 inch drive was the only one that would fit good enough to line up on the top bolt 3/8 was too big.

drop the k member next time, it is an hour that can actually save you two
i know it a pain to put back in but it will give you FULL access to all of those bolts
