Raced a 300C HEMI.....HELP!
Before I tell you my story Im going to say this....it was stupid on my part for racing at 3:00 AM after a night of clubbing in DC. I realize it's dangerious and more importantly stupid so please spare me from the comments.....So Im driving back from DC as I was saying its about 3 am, Im cruising with the top down and I see a tinted out silver 300c HEMI...and we went at it, the first time he got the jump and pulled hard, the second time I got the jump and had him by a fender, finally on the 3rd run we preatty much left at the same time we went from about 70 to 130+ he had me by about half a car to a car the whole time, when we finally slowed down I was doing about 80 and a cop flew by me got infront of the hemi and hit the lights, I thought for sure he was gonna pull me to for street racing/being a guy, but someone from above was looking out and I got away clean, definetly learned my lesson though....I thought I would've taken him. I have flowmasters, bbk highflow x-pipe and gears, its an auto. Anyone familier with the 300c hemi powerplant? What would it take for me to pull on one of those because his top end was nice and Im pretty sure it was a stock one.
They're heavy hogs so you'rebetter off going from a dig. Regardless, if you throw in some long tubes you should be alright, I actually just had fun with one yesterday and didn't really have much of a problem. We went from a 40mph roll in 2nd and I was able to take him by almost a car by 85-90ish (mods are in my sig).
Also, they run 14.1 stock (from a magazine I forget which one), so that'll give you an indicator.

5.7 hemi is rated at 340 fwhp and the 6.1 hemi is at 425 fwhp. the chargersrt 8 with the 6.1 hemi is going to be my wifes new car soon!!!!!hellyeahgetting rid of that damn underpowered uglyazztrailblazer AND it gets better mpg !!!!!!
i work at a dodge dealership and get to drive all the srt X and all there cars. those hemis DEFINITELY have torque... but those 300s hemis do not feel faster than my car.

Unless it was an SRT. If it was an SRT, then it is a mid 13 second car.

Do you guys think I can take that hemi with out l/t's or o/r x-pipe? I already have highflow cats on my bbk x-pipe and don't want to spend the extra $ getting it replaced...unless its really really worth it. Also Will a CAI,T/B, MASS AIR make a noticable diff?
