Default Paint Price Advice

well i recently bought a stock hood scoop from some place called express body parts. i havent got it yet but i went to a local shop and asked them how much it would be to install it. (i think theres like 8 or 10 screws that hold it down.) and to paint it DSG. he says 100 bucks.. sound reasonable?

Sounds reasonable to me. Why not install it yourself and save some money?

You get what you pay for and $100 sounds pretty cheap to me.....

Well, as long as you take your time and do the proper measurements, you should be fine. Kinda depends on how good you are with a drill.....

I'm actually thinking about ordering that same scoop, from the same place. Then again I'm tryring to talk myself into buying a 2.5" cowl hood, so who knows. Stock 99-00 hoods FTL.

Have a shop do it and make sure you pay more than 100$. that barely covers so/so quality paint and materials. You should be looking at around 200-250$ for a good Prep/paint and fitment.

Ah its not too bad, just study up and learn how to paint. It's really not that hard, its just like everything else, you have to have the right tools to do the right job. If you have an air compressor then your halfway there......

I try to do everything myself. I've just got a big problem with paying someone to do something that I can learn/do myself with the help of having the same tools that they use. In most cases you can buy all the right tools and material for the cost that they *** rape you in labor, and on the bright side, your always gonna have those tools down the road. Maybe even do some side work for friends or family, and make a little bit of extra cash.
