Default Difference between...

Can anyone tell me what the difference is motor wise between a 96-98 Cobra and an 03-04 Mach 1. I know that the Mach 1's use Coil on plugs and the Cobras have plug wires but other than that, what are the differences? im trying to decide which one i want next. And since the rears are both live and both 5 speed can be kinda sucky(would swap out for T56 afterpurchase anyways), its a hard decision for me to make.I plan on modding the heck outta this car...ie hellion twin turbo kit, viper spec T56, supporting mods, etc. so i need some informed opinions on which one would be a better buy for my plans. So if anyone has any information on positives and negatives of engines, rears, orwhatever that would let mehinder my process or make it easier with either car,let me know. Thanks.

the mach would be a better engine to buy. the ones out of a 5 speed will have a forged crank and the heads flow better than the 96-98 cobra.

True, but the Cobra has a forged crank, too.

um

Built MMR(?)600/900 2V shortblock > Stock 4V Mach 1/SN95 Cobra motor

Why not get a GT since you would need to swap out the tranny anyway? No way you would want a Terminator?

i think the mach has a better motor than the 96-98 cobras.but if your going to puta a hellion kit on it your going to be limited to how much boost you run beforeyour engine craps out.so you would have to forge the internals if you want to make an insane amount of power. 03 cobra>built&blown2v>stock 4v

cobra has a teksid casting >machs inferior windsor casting
both have forged cranks and sucky rods
B series heads will outflow any head top end, but the machs cams will give a broader power curve
IMRC and coil-packs will be harder to retrofit to a 99+
In short : the cobras good for a pure track car or if drivability is a concern. A heavy hitting street car would see most from the mach engine. Money is a concern, tthe mach would be a little more strait forward.

I was talking about buying either one of them...not just the motor. I want to buy the car because i will never get the money outta the GT as it sits...but a cobra or mach i would be able to get more money out of. and they look better too. so with this new stipulation, what would you do?
