just finished IAC mod...
and i'm not sure how i feel about it, it definitely sounds better on the revs and between shifts and i'm glad "engine braking" works now, but with the stock shifter its akwerd to try and shift before the RPMs fall flat. i ordered a steeda shifter and clutch adjuster last week so hopefully it will be here soon and i can try it out with the shorter shifts. i 've only had a few minuets behind the wheel "testing" after the mod (it just started raining ) so maby with a little more driving i can re-learn it.
I done mine to...and @ first I was like crap far this is odd and wasnt to sure about it. Now that I have it done and have relearned the car I would not want it any other way...just take ur time and re-learn the car and I think you will be happy..just takes time Congrats on the new purchase us know how it all goes with the install of the new products.
i should point out too anyone else considering this to be very VERY careful when putting the gasket/valve back on. i could not get the bottom bolt to go in right after making the gasket, turns out i striped out some of the threads on the bottom of the plenum and i was only hand tighting them. the steel bolts and aluminum plenum dont get along well unless they are aligned perfectly.
i have had this done(but i used a restricter plug instead of making a gasket) it was a cool sound... but in all practicality, its a pointless mod. when your racing why would u WANT your rpms to fall? all you do with this mod is make your rpms drop REALLY fast, thus taking you out of your powerband faster.
