i've heard rumors that they are equal but i think its bulsht

That's what the '05+ V6 owners would like to believe...

 

the 05+ have less power AND weight more... common sense question if u ask me

 

you hear that rumor cause someone had the bright idea that the 4.0 V6 get similar gas mileage to the 3V V8.. therefore the 6 must take the older 8... i dunno man. maybe the 3.5 V6 ecotec coming up will take our 2V 4.6's... but until that 260hp V6 comes... V8>V6

yea the 05 sixers can hagn or beat 98 and previous models but def not the 99-04. )5 sixers need full exhaust intake gears and tune to hang or beat a bad driver with the 99-04 gt. and btw im almost positive the new models actually way less, the v6s are 3250 lbs and the gts 3335lbs. They use lighter parts than previus genrations
