hey guys sorry if i sound alittle dumb here but how do i know if my car is an early or late 01 because i hear there is a difference?

 

there should be a sticker on the inside of the door that shows the month and year your car was made....which would tell you if it was a "late model" 01.

this would be the only way that i know of.

 

well i think yours is a late 01 GT because the wing is the same as on my 02 GT and the early 01's had the samewing as the 99's and 00's. just my thoughts. not sure if im right or not.

 

During the change mid-year one of the redesigns was the water pump so look at your water pump pulley....If you have an Inny then you are a late '01, if you have and Outty then you are early '01

 

If you look at the sticker on the door jamb that someone else mentioned there is a date code that'll let you know when it was made. According to the one Ford service bulletin I read recently anything built after Feb 21 of '01 has the 3650 trans. Anything before that has the T45. If it was built in Feb you'll pretty much have to get under the car and take a look at the trans to see which one it is. I went through this a couple of years ago when I was trying to find a clutch for my 01. I don't know when in the model year they did the switch on the water pump pulley. I'd take a look at mine but its bloody pouring here right now. I don't think you can tell by the spoilers though, mine is an early 01 and I believe it has the same spoiler as the 02+. I could be wrong though. Cheers,

the pulley was the way that i was able totell on my cobra.
