programer
I suggest the diablosport, sct, or sniper. The sniper software has the most options but is pretty advanced compared to the other two. I have always used diablosport, but most dynos are not compatible. No personal experience with sct, but plenty have good things to say about them.
SCT tuner is the way to go. i have an xcal 3 and i love it. it already has tunes programed into it that you can plug and play and then if you want to get a dyno tunelater, then you already have the programmer and you can just use that and the price for the tune is a lot cheaper. and i think that the tuner alone helps a lot. i picked up a lot of lower end throttle responce and probably a lil mpg difference.
just look for a used xcall II, vmptuning.com sells them if you can't find one here or on ebay (i believe the model # is 9400). if you buy it from an individual make sure that it is unlocked from their VIN
The Granatelli Fuego is a decent tuner, however it is misrepresented as it does not do data logging, does not have any PC interface software (and therefore is not "updatable over the internet"). On top of that their support stinks.I bought one in early 2007 and really wanted the impressive data logging capability Granatelli advertises but does not deliver (I.e. it's pure-D BS). I have since upgraded to the Sniper Special Forces package. My brother is using the Fuego on his '99 GT and as he has no interest in data logging it works good for him. He has recently exchanged some email with "JR" who claimed he had no idea the Fuego didn't datalog or have a PC interface. This is an outright lie as I also had an email exchange with him about the issue, and spoke with him on the telephone at least twice, in March/April of last year. It is not surprising however as I have heard for others that he is largely a sack of it...
