Default bad night

Tonight me and a friend were on our way to pick up the race car from a shop that welded the anti roll bar in, we were driving his 2000 vette there ( he was driver i was passenger ). On the way there we had a green light and a person comming the opposite way thought they had enough time to turn infront of us. They didnt so they decided to stop right in the middle of the lane we were in. My friend hits the brakes and moves over into right lane, so then the car decideds to move over infront of us into the right lane as well. Just about as we were gunna t bone that car, the car takes off. We just missed it, now pretty much at a dead stop. out of no where BOOM.. we get rear ended by a guy in a Suburban doing 50mph. We both hit our heads bad on the seat, and the vette is totalled. The whole rear of the car is like an acordian ( cant spell ) all the way up to our seats.

I think the guy who cut us off was drunk. its a popular bar area, and who is dumb enough to cut someone off like that.

I take it that you and your friend are okay. Did the airbags deploy? It sounds like the driver of the Suburban wasn 't paying attention to theroad (defensive driving). Even with everything else that occurred, the Suburban driver should have been able to hit theirbrakes and dampen the impact or steer into the other lane.

that really sucks sorry to hear that hope he gets a new vette at least. i got rear ended by a drunk driver. then the guy ran and i had to follow him while i called the cops to pull him over. took them 5 miles of this guy driving all over the lanes for the cops to get to us and pull him over. then after all that he had no insurance. so i got to pay for the rear bumper out of pocket but at least its nothing more then a little while scratch on my white bumper. then the dude skipped on his court date and i lost a days pay going. he just keeps messing with me.

When i was going to automotive college in pa i was driving back to my apartment one night and there was a guy sitting in the fast lane facing toward me, on a stretch of highway with a guardrail in the median, my only question was how in the hell did he get there, i think he was passed out.scary. pass out in your bath tub like normal people guys, not on a public roadway.
