Audio/Electrical problems
Hey guys, well, I have been having some serious electrical problems lately. Okay, well I might be doing the a**hole douchebag eng*neer thing and over exaggerating the problem.
now, first, let me say, that when I was in school, I skated the **** out of taking very many electrical courses, so I only have a general idea of what's going on.
anyway, to the problem. Everytime I start the car, the gauges seem to sweep, which, normally, i wouldn't care about, but also, when the radio is on, there seems to be a hum, or some kind of interference, that changes frequencies according to engine RPM, coming from the speakers.
Now, I know the search button is Fuskered up, but I also spent about an hour using google to search through the sight (great way to do it) and couldn't find anything. I know there used to be a bunch of stuff on electrical problems with audio components in the Audio/electronics section, but I can't seem to find the original threads.
Any Idea on what might be causing my problems? (besides an erronioius superiority complex - Ie being an egotistical jackass)

The gauges will sweep when the 5A fuse in position 21, labeled Instrument Cluster and Engine Control Memory is blown. The radio noise you describe is often caused by a bad ground connection in thewire bundlefeeding the rear amps. It runs under the carpet on the driver's side right next to the door sill. A crude fix (which I have been know to use) is too bang on the carpet between the dead pedal and the seat with the heel of your foot. This will often reset the bad connection and stop the noise for a while.I took it all apart right after I got my '03 in December of '06, and manipulated and re-taped the wire bundle; this fixed it for a year or so however it has returned and so far responded to the "foot banging". When the weather cools off (it's 90° with 80% humidity here right now) I'm going to open it up again.
well, looks like it was the battery that took a poop, replaced every single fuse, and after that didn't fix the problem, I went out and bought a new battery, nothing special, just a duralast thing, 760 cranking amps, and that fixed the problem.
I don't know if it's possible, but I have a feeling the battery that I was running was the original one from when the car was purchased, no wonder I was having issues with the electrical system.
Is there anything I should check, I mean would this explain what has been going on? Or should I look for something that would cause the battery to be drained down?
I could only guarantee that the battery that I replaced had been used for at least 2 years, I knew it was on there a year ago, when I bought it, and I know it had been in the car for at least one year prior, possibly longer.
