the other night i ran my friend who has an 08 gt wit a mid pipe intake and tune wit my full bolt on GT, we did 1 dig and a few 40 pulls from a dig i got him.. but when we did a 40 it was close but up top he was pullin... do 3v's pull hard up top or my car just dies up top lol idk what you guys think cuz i got the hand held tuner and i put the timeing up 10% and the fuel up 10 % at wot

do you know how to tune a car or are you just playing with it. Look at my sig. With all my bolt-ons I have I didn't match the HP output of a 2006 Mustang gt with an 8 psi vortech kit and no other mod. 3v motors breath better. Maybe you should get a dyno tune,

That is a correct statement, 4v>3v>2v in the breathing department.

The 3v 4.6L also has variable cam timing so it maintains better power accross a broader RPM range.

yes, the 3v's make more power mod for mod then the 2v's

more valves more power

As everyone has said the more valves the greater the engine breathes. His HP in higher rpms are going to be higher than yours cause his motor has more potential, and if he has a few mods and you do too then as you both go through the rpms then he will be pulling more HP than you allowing him to get work done in a shorter time.

owning both a 2v and a 3v. i can say, yes the 3v pulls much harder up top. especially on the highway, thats where its most noticeable.

and remember the s197 weighs more.

+1... i think the s-197 driver is in need of a driver mod...
