dont... you're gonna spend more money doing that than you ever would if u just modding your 4.6, if you're gonna swap an entire engine dont do an LS... do a 5.4 or atleast a 4.6 4 valve..

besides putting an LS in a mustang is considered a felony in 7 states.

To be honest, it is a really stupid idea. Trust me, I already thought about it.

You will need either a stand alone ECU or the entire wiring harness then you will need a custom bell housing the 4r70w will not bolt up or you could get a new transmission with a custom drive shaft. You will need to make custom motor mounts along with exhaust work to make the headers bolt up.

There are thousands of little things that you would have to get to work.

Also if you are going to DD this it will be almost impossible to pass emissions anywhere.

if you got the pockets go for it.. your gonna need a good list of parts but youl absolutely rock a 5.4s jock(ls1s got a plus one on any n/a motor ford makes pretty much)... it will be worth it if you can get most of the stuff u need from his carI.e the wires.

Don't let anyone fool you, it's an easy swap. THis is some of the things you'll need.

Stock Kmember is fine
custom Slave cylinder bracket
Motor/trans mounts up to stock locations with little wopping of of holes "IF USING A GT" cobra mounts are different
Shifter is located about 3" to the rear so modifications will have to be made.
Steering shaft is slightly in the way but the header can be modified
After market W/H is preferred BUT...
Engine w/ Wiring harness & ECU(not that bad if you pull it from a junker and have any basic 8th grade skills)
Trans w/ harness
New Drive Shaft that mates up for length and ends

I haven't thought about A/C lines and that stuff yet. Just the basics.

I have the price down to 5k and all the go-fasters to go with it. My problem is just that I would hate to be the demon at the Ford shows. My ford friends said they would kill me but my GM friends thinks it's a great idea... Go figure. Compared to my S/C 4.6 I'll make slightly higher numbers with an LS2, plus have more tq and sound pretty mean as well. Although I love the sound of an LT1 vs any of the LSx engines.

It's an easy swap as long as you're ready for the little things.

I saw the lsx new exge with a huge turbo on LS1tech back when I was thinking about building an LS1 240z.

But it would probablly be easier and more cost effective to get a 351w that is built then convert it to EFI and run a stand alone ECU and a custom gauge cluster.

ok guys its my motor, he would get the stock 4L60 with the it, the motor got rebuilt 8k ago and got the heads milled. I hate to say it but a ls1 has more mod potential and any n/a ford motor. It would get a decent head cam combo before it goes in and maybe some forged pistons and arp rod bolts and it should take a 175 shot all day. Something like a ms3 cam, ported ls6 heads and a yank ss3600-4000 stall and it would be a mid-low 10 sec car..It would be from intake to the oil pan. You can find a wiring harness and ecu off of tech for cheap

LS1 FTMFW!!!!

and the car would pass emissions since the mustang is a 2000 and the motor is a 2001
