Default Tail Light Tint Review

Well I know some of you are wondering how you should tint your tail lights. Plastic cover vs. vinyl tint vs. spray. Well I bought the vinyl blackout tint from stangmods.com. Here is my review.

The good - the tail lights look great. Applying the vinyl was easy, just take your time and follow the instructions. 10-15 minutes. Check below for pics, I'll let you know if I get any air bubbles but so far so good! For those of you worried about your lights (especially when you brake) not showing through, don't worry. The tint allows PLENTY of light through, check pic below (braking).

The bad - the side marker tint sucks. The pieces (make sure you put them on the correct side!!) are slightly too large and don't stick as well at the tail light vinyl did. I will probably be taking them off in a day or two.

Thanks for making up my mind on blackouts. Have any pic with the lights on and no braking?

I knew I should've got those... I'll get some tonight when it gets dark again

Honestly with the lights on, I can barely tell that I have any tint on. The light shines right through (even more so when braking). But yeah I'll take some more pics for reference. I stayed away from the plastic black covers b/c it is much darker and it covers the nice lines of our tail lights.

Yeah I have stangmods tints as well. The sidemarkers suck and the 3rd brakelight sucked so bad I didn't even use it. I changed to smoked last minute and now I kinda regret it and wish I went with blackout instead. Cause the smoked one isn't that dark at all. Even looking at my car at night in a parking lot, you can see red.

What I cant stand is sometimes when the spray on tint stays for awhile it starts to look mat and get kind of like a chalky appearance. it just looks cheap IMO i think i would get covers.
