Default Iac?

Will the iac cause you to lose power through out driving range? (if it was bad for the smart asses)

All your IAC is going to do is control idle speed.

Wrong! The IAC does not control idle speed your computer does. The IAC is there to keep the engine from stalling during sudden TB blade closure and it warm the engine faster during cold starts.

Do you really know how an iac valve works???? And just so you know the pcm controls the iac. And what does iac mean " IDLE AIR CONTROLER". When the TB is closed the iac opens to allow air to still enter the engine. The pcm controls how much the valve is open to control idle rpm.

Also when the a/c is on the pcm opens the iac valve even more to compensate for the increased load on the engine. sorry for lashing out in your thread russ98stang , but are you having an issue with your car?

Do you know what dashpot is? the IAC takes part in this process as well.

You can alter the decay rate which is what happens when you lift of the gas. Thats why some people (I won't do this) put a plate in front of the IAC so the motor comes to an idel faster after you rev the engine.

I did that when a local tuner F*cked up my tune and it was Idling after 2200 rpm. I only did it as a temp fix.
