Default Quick Oil Question..

I left my manual at my house and am not going there before i work on my car today. I know i need 6 quarts of oil but i don't know what to get? i think 5w 20 from what i find online. But do get synthetic or not i dunno.

I just rebuilt my engine, everything is in the sig.

I was thinking getting synthetic 5w 20? Good idea or not. I do wanna get royal purple but i think ill get that after i break in the engine and do the first oil change.. good idea or no?

If ya guys can help me out thanks alot!

With a looser bottom end, I'd suggest 5W-30.

Nope, run standard mineral 5W-30 oil. Your standard Mobil Clean 5000, Valvoline, etc will do just fine.

When you run the break in, make sure to allow the engine to brake torque in several RPM ranges to allow those rings to seal perfectly.

My car only takes 5 quarts. When did they change it?

You should be running 6. Ford changed the desired fill level with the Romeo engine, but the oil pans have never changed throughout the years.

started with the 2001 model when they switched back to the Romeo engine.

My manual says 5 quarts of 5W-20 and that should be true for the 1999 models as well.

yeah you're right, mine says 5W-30 as well, must have looked at something else.
