Our logic with cars is like a womans logic with purses and shoes. We will never understand their "Need" or desire for new shoes and purses, they will never understand our "Need" and desire for our cars.

My wife finally came to that realization and while she may not understand why I want an Intake and tune for my car (Bama C&L Racer intake + X3) she is getting it for my B-day! (2-days and counting) Why? Cos she doesn't like to justify why she needs another Coach, Gucci, DB, or other designer purse to match a new outfit she just bought even though she has 10 other purses sitting in the closet half of which would probably match that new outfit.

That's why a lot of marraiges are doomed to fail from teh start. When you really care about someone else it's not just about what YOU want. It's about what's best for both of you or finding a common ground to get where you want to get and get what you want to get.

Love the car, but damn..will a bank even loan you 30K on that vehicle? a car can only hold so much value as far as loans go.

A car is not like a house, a bank (if you're approved) will give you what the car is selling for. There is no appraisal because if it gets totaled you're on the hook for gap.

So, right now i'm still talking her down. I seriously didn't think it'd be a big deal at all! I forgot though: my money is ours, her money is hers! I got approved, but the rep told me to come in to discuss #'s further. dont rag on me too much--at least i was honest
DUDE! F that! She is a girlfriend, not a wife. As far as I'm concerned, girlfriends don't get a say in how I spend my money, no matter how long you have been with them. She'll get over it. Get the Cobra, you'll kick yourself if/when you break up with her in insert number months if you don't get it.

Sorry, didn't see it was a GF..oh well, my point still stands. If you really care you'll find a way to get what you want and keep both of you happy. If it means she has a new pair of $200 dollar shoes or a $400 handbag, so be it.

unfortuneatly it can work against us too How do you think I'm getting my CAI and Tuner? She's been wanting a new laptop (for a couple months now) and I made the off handed comment about a month ago that she couldn't get one unless I got my...CAI and tuner because it seemed like a waste to get a new laptop when her other one is just fine. She made the same comment about improving performance since I already have a GT. So here we are now. We're both happy...a bit poorer but happy
