Default How Much Would My Trap Speed Decrease?

Right now my best time has been 14.1 @ 105.25 with a 2.268 60'. I can't seem to get traction through the first couple gears with my Nitto 555's and am really looking into get M/T Drag Radials. Just out of curiousity, would my trap speed go down much?

Here are my currents mods: Short throw, o/r midpipe, mufflers, intake, plenum, tb, udp's, springs, 3.73 gears, XCal3 tuned by Brenspeed.

Thanks!

You'd probably lose a MPH...easy

With good 60's comes lower traps..

When I get 2.0s I trap low 106, when I get 1.9s I trap high 104

nah, he'll trap higher than me

i still trap 100 with no traction.....

which is odd, cause usually traction = lower traps..

i trapped 101.1 with a 2.1 range 60', and a 100.6 with a 1.85

no offense but why do you care how fast you are going when you get there, the point is to get there as fast as you can..... thats midly confusing lol.

your trap speed will lower with slicks or d/rs

but work on your launch. i have 4.10s and get 2.0s on street tires on a terrible track.
save money and practice

Because a trap speed is somewhat indicative of how much power he is making, however, I think we can all agree that a trap of 105 in a not even full bolt on 2V GT seems high.

He's curious as to whether with traction he can dip into the low 13's.

My guess is no, but that's my opinion. I'd imagine that the car is CAPABLE of doing so, but I think it'll take 2-3 more trips to the strip before he's running 13.4 or better.

Then again, I'd like to see him prove me wrong.

I get 2.1 to 2.2 60' with stock tires. At what rpm are you launching? You can also shift at 4,000 from 1>2 to reduce tire spin. I would rather have a good consistent 60' that a higher trap.
