yeah i was pissed cause i told him i had the money to order them and i know they arent the best rods but they are rated to 800hp to like 8k rpms or something like that. but who is going to run a h- beam rod to 8k really. thats I beam area there lol. but for 600 $$$ they are great rods and would hold 20 psi out of a V2 vortech thats for sure. plus my cams are rated to 5800 but with a blower my tuner said they would be good to 6200 ish and they are but my dad thinks if i keep it under 6k the rods will never break but lil does he know... he is old fashion and doesnt know much about FI so ill cut him a break but i will be going thru it before to long thats for sure

^^^ thats what i was thinking cause i called comp and they recommended this cam for FI cause when your running after market cams in these cars they said a lobe separation of 113-118 and since they dont make one to 118 for the 2v's this is the best cam for a blower set up... but they make one with a 118 for cobra but not 2v's haters lol

Those cams are lumpy... The more chop in a came normally the longer the valves are open and boost escapes. That's why MPH, HiTech, & CMS blower cams all sound really tame compared. I didn't know about the cams only being 114, and now, Those cams make more sense. I was told by all the companies I listed above that comps where generic and I wouldn't see any great gains out of them and that unless I went with the basic cams I'd loose boost.

Also if they didn't know your engine was being built for boost then you have rings that are gaped wrong. I'm sure it isn't going to hurt much but still, it's not that great.

So, you don't have stock Rods now? What brand are your Rods?

In a N/A motor you want valve overlap so the exhaust going out will help pull in the mixture for the next cycle. It's a vacume thing. In a boosted motor though you don't need that and the overlap just lets boost escape out into the exhaust. Overlap is where the intake valve opens a little while the exhaust is still being pushed out.

You can spare me the specifics, as I know more about this subject than anyone in here.

I was asking for him to clarify his post.

Yes, Comp cams are generic so that they will work ok in N/A and blower specific applications. However, he's not going to lose a **** ton of boost due to any major amount of overlap, as those cams don't have much.
