here's the scenario,
a kid at my school has a 95' gt with pypes o/r x and borla stingers (sounds INCREDIBLE)

since he has the 5.0, would that same set up sound different on a 97' gt cause im thinking about getting the 97' since its only got 50,000 miles and only $7,000. i want it to sound the same but im thinking it won't.

Not too sure what that setup sounds like on a 5.0, but go to YouTube and type in Borla Stinger and look at some vids.

Stingers with an o/r x sounds SICK man!!!!! I would definitely reccommend it!

 

I think it will sound a little different.

 

He must just have the same mufflers welded in, because I still think Borla is yet to make any full exhaust set ups (stingers) for a pre-99 Mustang.

 

Stingers w/ an o/r X on the 4.6's sound awesome!!! there's a guy in our Mustang club that has that setup and it sounds beasty! If I could afford the Stinger catback I would have it on my car now! lol

 

i want the borlas, but they are so damn expensive.
if i could just buy the freakin mufflers and weld them into stock, that would be beautiful.

They dont have stinger system for pre-99 but they have the xr-1 line for pre-99 which is pretty much the same design just a different case shape of the muffler. I have a set of the 12 inch xr-1's with flowtubes welded to them for sale that were on my car and I got a good deal on the stinger system and there isnt hardly a difference. Again my xr-1's are for sale.

 

I just put on a used borla stinger catback for my 04 GT with the stock midpipes and let you tell you first hand that sounds like ****ing SEX

but I can imagine that his 5.0 would sound a bit better than a 97 since it's slightly bigger and it's a pushrod

 

Grrrrrr I wish I didn't have side exhaust! I LOVE the sound of my Magnaflow side exhaust with an o/r x, but I wish Borla made a muffler that would fit my car. The mufflers for my exhaust have the in and out on the same side. The only companies I know of that make these kind of mufflers are Magnaflow (which I have), Spintech (which don't sound NEAR as good as Magnaflow), and Steeda (which aren't worth changin to).

I would LOVE to get some Stinger mufflers and switch them out with the mufflers on there now but they don't match up right. Could I get the Stinger mufflers customized to fit on my side exhaust?? If so, how much would something like that cost??
