Default Cobra R Rims

I found some chrome Cobra R rims for $600 with tires, fronts are 17x9 and rears are 17x10.5... is this a good deal? Are these rims lighter than the stock rims from a 1998 GT (17'' option)?

Link to what my stock rims look like- http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...US293%26sa%3DN

Actually my car looks just like that one except I have tint.

Most likely the weight will not be all that much different. Depending on the width of the tire, I'm assuming you would have a wider tire then with your stock wheels, you should obtain better traction which would make up for having heavier wheels if that was the case, but I don't think the cobra's will be much heavier if they are at all.

Sounds like a good deal depending on the condition of the wheels. Are the tires good or will you have to replace them. Offer $500 and see if the person will take it. (That's if the wheels are in good shape)

they are going to be heavier than your stockers, to answer your original question, especially since they are all wider. I believe all stock 17" wheels are 8" wide, which means not only are they wider, but the chrome is going to make them much heavier

They won't be that much heavier, and that is a decent price

I'm gonna pass because of the weight.. I can deal with them being heavier if thats because they are wide but I'm looking to replace my rims for the performance factor.

that would improve performance...put 315's out back and you should be good to go with any kind of traction issues

Just because the tire is wider doesn't mean it will give more traction. I would rather have a 245 Nitto 555R than a 315 Sumitomo HTR-Z.

Like 2000AZ said, the chrome and width will make them heavier than stock. Most of the you are going to have to pay a decent amount for lighter wheels. Mustang wheels are relatively heavy.

That is being nice to them. I had them and now my Dad has them on his GT. I will never buy them and I can guarantee you that he will never buy them again.

If you were in a car and simply need to get somewhere then they might be ok. If you are looking for traction, you will be dissapointed.
