Default Pics added!!...My new whip...

So the day after I graduated high school, the 1970 Ford F100 that my dad, brother, and I had spent 2 years restoring was stolen and never found. As stupid as it sounds, it really messed us up since we had so much invested in it. We only had liability coverage on it, so our insurance company did not compensate us at all. So we ended up eating about 7 grand and I was out a vehicle.

Several years later I bought a 1985 Silverado with intentions of rebuilding. I owned this truck for two weeks and it too was stolen. This time we had insurance coverage, but unfortunately I had to use the money to pay off some college debt.

After graduating college I bought my mustang, which I love, but still have always missed my 1st truck. I have spent the past year and a half saving for a wedding, so that pushed the idea of a project truck back even further.

Well....I go home last saturday to see my family before heading out for my bachelor party that evening and my mom pulls me aside. In the back round I hear a rumble and I think to myself "that doesn't sound like any of our cars." I turn around and see my dad drive a 1971 Ford F100 just like my first truck up the driveway.

I was speechless. I love my family so much and I can't wait to get this old farm truck rockin'.

Enough of the sappiness...here's the good stuff. 5.0 302, 4 speed, and I think it may have a ford 9" rearend.

The truck isn't 100% road worthy, so it has sat this week at my parent's house. I haven't really been able to spend much more than a couple of hours with it last saturday. I am going home in the morning to tool around with it some more and probably take a few more pics. Hopefully it won't be long until I can get it on the road and bring it to my house.

When I get closer to finishing, I think I am actually going to Low Jac that batch.

And yeah...I had a hard time keeping it together when they gave it to me. It still hasn't quite sunk in yet.

Heading out the door right now to go get my wrench on...pics to follow.
