I dunno... 18's and a 3" drop on what?

On this forum, being vague wont help your newb status get lifted any sooner.

Post a pic of your car, that'll help so we can see what you're working with.

+1 get us a picture to see what you are working with...and please do not lower your car more than like 2" or put gaudy wheels on it , b/c not many here will agree with doing that (if you are looking for us to like you that is...lol)

Depends what chromes you're considering, I'd only consider two. I think 18" Chrome Bullit wheels look amazing as do the 18" Chrome Saleens. So it really depends what you're looking at.

a 3 inch drop??? WTF are you driving, a mustang or an old school impala. Stick with 17 inch rim and get some C springs, Eibachs or Steedas. A 3 inch drop will force you to avoid the smallest obstacles while driving.

just get some 18's and H&R SS springs or sportlines, those will leave you with a sick stance. plus if you go any lower than that you'll be having lots of problems with speedbumps or any bump in the road. im on 17's and sportlines and i scrape everything, hurts me everytime but it does look damn good.
