Default Guess What I bought!!! HINT: Vroom Vroom

Well my mustang has been sitting for over 2 years due to some problems that were related to the timing chain tensioners. (aka trash in the oil causing HLA's to fail, ect blah blah)

Well today the Engine fairy visited my house and left a Sweet 4.6L out of a low mile police interceptor in my garage. I hope to start pulling the old motor (salvageable) and putting in the new one this week. Will be nice to get the Car back on the road, right in time to put it up for the winter. I was going to sell the car, but the price of mustangs are in the toilet.

So it seems that I will have her for a while. I picked up the engine in a trade and saw it run prior to them pulling it out. Ran like a champ and I have all of the maint. records.

For those who know my car it has gone through some changes since last go around.. I traded my 18" Gunmetal Y2k Cobra R wheels for a nice set of bullitts.. Stay tuned..

Congratulations.

I hope that low mile "Police Interceptor" came out of a Vic newer than 2001 or you got a NPI paper weight.

It is out of a 2002 Interceptor, I already accidentally bought a NON PI paperweight.. Luckily I sold it.

40th anniversary Paint.. Not perfect, but looks clean. It was Lazer Red.

Thanks... I am sitting with my finger on the BUY NOW button on a lightweight flywheel and a set of 17x10.5 rims for the back....

what all is involved in literally replacing a motor with something like that?

unbolt the motor from the mounts after detaching it from the transmission? anything else?

and can the mustangs wiring harness be used on the new motor?

Due to the fact that mine is a manual transmission I will swap the flywheel. Other then that I will put my intake manifold, injectors, and oil cooler.. The rest is identical. I am hoping to pull the motor/trans together.. The wiring harness will plug in because I am using my parts but it seems the same (injectors plugs are the same ect)...

You better hope its got the same # of bolts on the crankshaft. Because some are a 6 bolt while others are an 8 bolt.
