the plate is nice, but its not needed. im running a nozzle, and its working great... really well actually at the size shots we can run on these cars, the nozzle dispurses(sp) everything fine... 250+ id look at a plate.

you can do it for cheap tho man, used kits are cheap...try to get 2 solenoids and a bottle and a main line, doesnt matter if its for a carb plate or what. im trying to remember how i pieced mine together

superpowershot plate(carb), main ilne, 2 solenoids and a bottle-$125
black NOS nozzle-free(friend had a kit on a camaro, i have 2 solenoids from it and two nozzles)
bought 2 18inch lines-60bucks
window switch-new-100

and thats all you NEED off the bat, sure alot of other **** is nice... i ended up payin 50 a piece an rebuilding my solenoids for piece of mind, and got the zex tps switch for 60 bucks.

all im sayin is deals can be found... and really... a new kit is only 500 or so.
