Default Cam install?

Hey guys...im in the market for some stage 1 cams. I was wondering...how difficult is install? Do i need to be a mechanic haha??? Or can me and a few of my car buddies do the install ourselves?

From everything iv seen stage 1s would be a breeze.

this is a walkthrough of a stage 2(cam spring swap also) so you wouldnt even have to do all that much

Just make sure you have another car as back up. It shouldn't be difficult, but i've seen crazier sh*t happen.

And i shouldn't need a dyno tune with stage 1s right? cuz i don't have a dyno shop that close to me.

yes you need a tune, its not an option, the car will run, but it will run like crap and make no power without a tune, and based on your sig, you would be better off doing some more bolt ons like tb/plenum/longtubes/gears before you bother with the cams, you wont get the power your looking for from the cams with out these suporting mods

Yeah im lookin into some shorties, and a TB/plenum too. But could i drive the car to the dyno shop when i install my cams?

You do not need a tune at all with stage 1s.. there is only a slight change. the sites themselves dont even mention a tune is required. If you want the most gains then yes a tune would be nice.. but for stage 1s you dont need them at all.

Dont get shorties if your going to get stage 1s.. get long tubes. THINK ABOUT YOUR POWER BAND.

yeah you can drive it to the shop like that, but dont waste your money on shorties, i made the same mistake just save for longtubes, shorties do next to nothing
