Default Built Rear end Coming Soon....

Having FRPP 4.10s, Moser 31 spline axles and Ford Racing LSD installed tomorrow.... finally, no more rubbing my bent axle on the brake pad. I can't wait. I hope I made the right decision on going with the 4.10s I just wanna let em rip.. BTW, Isn't there a break in period for the gears and diff??? just curious

well the diff i would say the usual break in period for all mechanical parts. i would say probaby 500 miles at least but the gears they suggest 2 heat cycles before you tear into them. but i would wait for like 500-1000 miles before you rip and tear on the thing.

I should be picking my rear end up tomorrow (33 spline moser axles, spool, C clip elims, welded tubes and 4.10's) The guy building the rearend said I didn't need to break it in. I always thought you had to but he said if its properly built there is no need.

well i still wouldnt trust it if you know what i mean. i would still at least go through one whole tank of gas before you would go out and beat the crap out of the rear. thats just the common sense in me saying that i wouldnt trust it. and plus the gears they say need to go through 2 full heat cycles which is just driving normal and getting the diff up to operating temperatures two times. so i would at least go through one full tank of gas before you beat the rear like you want to. lol

They only need it to work once, though. lol

They change engines between races too. If I had unlimited amounts of money I'd put a new engine in whenever the **** I wanted to also.

you shold not need a break in period.. iv used this example before.. ill use it again.

When a car comes off the assembly line ppl test drive it and RAPE it when it has like 2miles on the car... they still work when they are bought.. why would this be any different

Very true

And drag race teams only change rear end gears when they break or need to change them to tune for track conditions.
