Default First Time at the Drags...

I was expecting about the times I got but I'm still disappointed. The best I did out of 4 runs was actually the first one, 14.117 @ 102.21. I drive an 01 Bullitt, so its got the UDP's, better intake mani, twin throttle body, etc, and then I have a BBK CAI, a Mac catless Prochamber, a Mac Catback, and a steeda tri-ax. However the car is also lowered on eibach sportlines and my crappy khumo ecsta tires have almost no tread left in the back so I was spinning hard even just slipping the launch at 2k and was spinning pretty good on both the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. My 60' and my reaction time were awful too, 2.280 and a freakin .558! hahaah in my defense though I was barely watching the tree, I just wanted to work on getting the tires to hook up (which clearly still didnt happen!)... So i'm thinking I should get some new rears at least, anybody have a tire reccommendation for the stock rims (17x8)? Ahhh, I knowww I could run at least a mid 13, probably a low 13 with some DR's and some work on my R/T! Any advice for next time?

Not bad for your first time. I could see maybe a mid to high 13 out of your car on DR's. You would have to really hook to deal with a low 13 though.

Just look into some Nitto 555R's for you stock wheels. They will be fine in the rain and will hook decent at the track. Maybe not as good as some other DR's but good enough.

Dont worry about the r/t. Unless you racing somebody head up. The time dont start until you break the light. On a good street tire any thing 2.0 is real good. I can see you doing a 13.7 to low 13.8 after all this was your first time at the track.Which you did not do that bad.It will only get better.

your r/t doesnt effect your time. the clock starts when you break the laser when you start moving.

...Get yourself a good set of DR's and you should hook a little better...

I was racing someone heads up (not bracket racing) - does this mean that the time starts when the light turns green or only when I cross MY laser?

The only reason you care about r/t when you are racing heads us is because you want to beat the other driver to the finish. But the clock wont start until you start moving.

I do not see any mention of a premium fuel tune in your list of mods--if you are still running the OEM tune then there's quite a bit of power to be found there...

His car as it sits has mid to low 13's in it. That traps healthy enough for 13.5's with a good launch.

I went 13.6@100...and my times look about the same 14.1X@100 with 2.2 60's
