Default Sumitomo Tires

I was thinking about ordering some 315/35/17 Sumitomo tires to put on just cuz they are the cheapest and my drag radials didnt last me too long. About how many miles are the Sumi's good for? I like to do some pretty healthy burnouts every now and then is why im goin with the cheapest 315's i could find. Are they a pretty hard tire or not? Let me know what you guys think of these tires....i dont plan on getting anything for traction with them...i already know they suck for launching. Thanks guys

I had a set on there for about 20 or so, they cold have gone longer but my fronts were shot so i just got all 4, and i did a few burnouts on them as well...

a lot of people will tell you no,

but its a decent tire for the money, it'll last you awhile.

I actually had no hydroplaning issues out of rm and they look sick.

but ya they are a hard compound so the grip is pretty bad, but again worth it for the price IMO

There a pretty hard tire don't plan on any traction when you get on the gas in 1st gear. I had mine on for 6 months and I did a few smokey burnouts.

I had sumitomo tires when i bought my car, i really didn't like them at all, they were fairly new, 3000k on them, and i was sliding all over the place, and don't even get me started if it was raining...fearing every time i saw a puddle lol.

I bought the Nitto 555s recently and love those, thats what i would suggest.

I had them and my Dad just finished them up on his car.

They are ****. No traction in any direction.

Don't cheap out on tires.

I have them and I like them.
Any tire that big will give you problems in the rain I don't care what tire you got, that is a lot of tire on the ground. I put over 2K on mine over the summer messing around and I had no issues.
They work for me and I would buy them again in a second.

It depends on what your after and doing. For all around driving everyday driving and limited messing around, they are fine, if your racing, then no I agree they are not.
If you need traction, then buy tires that are for your application.

I personally want my car to be capable of performing its best at all times. Crap tires don't help with any type of performance. Handling or straight line.

If I did anything serious I wouldn't be having these tires.
For general messing around and beating the **** out of my car, they are fine.
