The only reason that CA sucks is its smog laws, We can't really do much and pass smog....unless you pay some money.

Do you mean a straight pipe from the mid-pipe back out behind the muffler, or just straight dumps right after the mid-pipe?

Dumps are illegal period. If a tech sees those = fail.

Mufflers have NOTHING to do with smog, it is a noise issue. However straight pipes on the 4.6 sound terrible to me. If you want it loud and as close to a straight pipe as you can get, just get a SLP LM1 cat-back.

You may pass with straight pipes, or he may fail you for missing part of the exhaust. But like I said, mufflers do nothing more than quiet the exhaust noise.

I bet if it was straight pipes out the back, he might pass visual. That really falls down to how **** the smog guy is. Go to some smog shop in the ghetto, and they don't care. The OP needs to head to East Palo Alto to get it done.

I would just put on a cat-back of his choice and call it a day. Straights sound terrible.

Yes Scorpion, it depends on the year of the stang. If it's between 94-04, the mufflers are tucked all the way in. You can't see them unless you get parallel with the ground. A set of lowering springs will Help .

lol, I went to Compton to get my smogs, back when I was rolling on my 97 gt.

Not texting while driving is common sense. It sucks that a law actually had to be made because people are too stupid to figure out it is a bad idea on their own.
