I have a 02 GT 5 speed 115 on the clock, well I down shifted and ran it hard and came to a red light and the car was missing real bad so I pulled in and had it checked and the number 3 cylinder had a misfire, I replaced the coil and plug ( the plug and been smashed down but no sighns of anything hitting it) well it ran fine for 2 days and then did it again, so this time it was number 4, replaced coil and all the plugs and it still does it and now it is reading mulitiple misfires and I pull the the injector or coil wire no change in the motor( both 3 and 4 cyclinders) I need some help.

 

when u say "the plug was smashed down".......do u mean that the plug gap was closed completely ?

 

Yes the plug gap and that was on 3. Had it looked at and the number 4 cyclinder has no compression.

 

One word, detonation...

 

The way I see it you have about 3 options
1) Get a new motor
2) Get a used motor from a junk yard
3) Rebuild it with forged internals (I wouldnt waste my time with stock style internals if I was rebuilding it.)
