Default Dyno tuning question

when dyno tuning a car what all is involved??...is it just matching the air to fuel ratio and bumping the timing and calling it a day?...also a tuner gave me somewhat of a quote on hp numbers with my setup, check this...i have

BBK CAI
Professional Products 75mm TB
Professional Products 75mm Plenum
BBK Longtube Headers
BBK o/r x pipe
Magnapacks
(those are my power mods)

2 guys at a speed shop said they could get me around 280hp to the wheels on a MUSTANG dyno...now to me that seems far fetched, one of the guys said "every car will be a lil different, you can take 3 of the exact same cars with the same setup, and they all arent going to read the same"....so i said "do you mean about 10hp from each other or like 3hp?"...he said "they could be about 50hp from each other"...what are ya'lls thoughts??..ever hear of someone gettin 280hp on a mustang dyno from just bolt ons and a tune?

a mustang dyno will read about 10% lower than a dyno jet and to me that is a pretty high estimate. is your car auto or a 5-speed? i would say if a 5-speed with you mods on a mustang dyno maybe 220rwhp.

No he is full of it....

that being said its a common miss conception that a mustang dyno will read lower than a dynojet. Most of the inconsistency's comes from the setup of the dyno. a dynojet requires pretty much no setup, just strap the car down and do a run.
