the ones that I've seen around here run in the 14's, until people start to mod them

like i said from a roll yer ****ed lol.

New edges hang pretty close to neons but as blackpony pointed out, you can mod the SRTs quite easily to be a good bit quicker than the GTs.

New Edge GT vs. SRT 4 is a neck and neck race.
Don't know where you heard they'd walk one...

IDK in my experiences SR's will more than likely walk a NE from a roll. Even from a dig I think the SR would still pull on the NE. I love the sound of boost, bov's dv's, etc. but there is something that gets me every time I look back at mine when I lock it. Or when people give me thumbs up and constantly would tell me how good my 98 sounded and looked. Let alone the sound of a cammed NE with a nice toned exhaust. Or the look of one with a tasteful lowering kit with nice wheels. The sounds, lines, and history of these cars is waht gets me off whenever I think about the future with my mustang.

i didn't "hear" it, ive seen it, a few times. Granted it could have been the driver and neither car was stock (a pipe for each) but its been my expirence that SRTs have the upper hand on NEs.
