Cams
Ive got a couple of questions on cams. My buddy has an 01 mustang gt with CAI, throttle body, plenum, full exhaust w/ shorty headers, stage 3 clutch, chip tuner and 3.73 gears. He has the stock heads in it now but later on he's going to either port and polish his with a valve job or buy patriot heads and do the same. With all that in mind wat would be the most ideal cams for him to get. He's goin to buy valve springs with em thats no prob. And get a tune right afterwards. But he wants a rough idle and *** of low and mid end power.
Im also in a similar situation but have 3.55 gears, no chip tuner and minus the shorty headers wanting basicaly the same thing with my car. I may or may not buy 4.10 gears for my car when i order the cams. Would that make any difference in the cam choice?
And also will the car be safe to drive to get tuned after the cams installed but kept under a low rpm?
Thanks in advance

If you guys want alot of low-mid range power then get a 5.0 and do H/C/I. Most cams for our motors are all about putting power at the top end (ex.: 2200-5400, 2800-6000). Gears will definatly give you some of low end torque that your seeking, you might want to look into 4.30's and get some stickies.

Tell your buddy i have a set of Stage 2 Comp Cams(comp cams does not go by stages but this is the description you will find on most web sites) They are XE270AH I am willing to let them go for a good price, for more info just pm me. This is what they sounded like with all my mods without a tune.

You will need to notch the pistons for value piston clearance!!!!!!!!!
