Default What tires for dd?

I bought wheels and tires for my car october 2007. i got sumitomos from american muscle and my dad thinks they will be no good this summer because of the tred pattern. I drive about 1k a month so they roughly have 15k or less miles. I want to get as much as possible out of them but im looking into tires. I was thinking BFG's either

I dont know much about the kdw2's though. i showed my dad them and says that tread pattern will wear fast and be noisy. i know many get them for looks. any ideas? other suggestions? As long as they are a 265 and i can do some research on them im up for whatever.

Very pleased with them. Been through snow and ice without any troubles and have excellent grip wet or dry.

Tread pattern doesnt have that much to do with wear mainly traction. If you look on the sidewall of the tire it will tell you the treadwear rating, traction rating, ant the temperature rationg. now the treadwear rationg and the traction rating go hand & hand the higher the treadwear rating the longer the tire will last however it has a harder compound wich doesnt give as good of traction so that means the higher the treadwear the lower the traction & the higher the traction the lower the treadwear. thats why nascar goes through so many tires a race. I hope this helps as far as the tires i have I have the BF Goodrich g-Force Super Sport A/S They are some good tires so far and Im pleased with them

You can get an agressive tire that handles great in every situation. Or, you can get a quiet comfortable ride that lasts a long time. You can't have both.

Michelin makes some of the best tires around. The get good traction and wear ratings. They're expensive, but they last a long time.

I have KDW's on one of my cars. Good traction, decent ride. They are kinda noisy, especially on concrete. Wear is not that good, at about 10K miles. Only the rear tires are wearing, though

The stock Mustang P-Zeros are OK. Decent traction, decent ride. But they're pretty noisy on all pavements. And you can feel all the asphault irregularities.

HAH, Michelin I hope your not talking about the Pilot PS-2's those are garbage, they ride really nice but they don't grip well and do not last. I know a guy that drives an M Roadster and he went through two sets of pilots in 12k.

I currently have Eagle F1 GS-D3's and they are really nice, if its warm out they grip really well, and they are holding up WAY better than I expected.

i need at least a 265. im not too worried about grip. i mean im not driving on a road course or worried about the 1/4 mile. im just dd driving and yeah i understand when turning and taking off a good grip tire is what is best. i might look into the eagle f1's.

any one know of the nitto nt555's, not the drag radial.

I had the Sumitomo HTR + 2s on my 01 and didnt have any complaints. Had plenty of tread left after 30k plus on them, not the best traction in the whole world, but I could hook up ok when I needed to, or break em loose when I wanted to. I would read the user reviews from tire rack if you are narrowing your choices. For a DD, I don't know that the higher priced tires provide the bang for your buck...

I ran Zexius tires front and rear on my DD's. Iran a 275 in the rear and they hooked up great actually. Nice ride and even nicer price. I believe I paid a little over 500 for a set of 4. That was for 17's and 245/275. Les Schwab sells them I know. Not sure if they still make them however but it would be extremely beneficial to check it out.
