Post Eibach vs. Air Suspension

Eibach Pro Street S Coil Over Kit vs. An Air Suspension

I currently have Sportlines and my stang just sits too low. I am tired of having to always worry about bottoming out.. it is just getting annoying. I am looking for something that i can adjust to the perfect height. Where it is still lowered and looks good but not have to worry about bottoming out.

Pros for Eibach are:
Adjustable
Cheaper
Cons
Cant adjust as easy like the air suspension (not being able to adjust on the spot isn't too much of a problem)

Pros of an air suspension
Ride height adjustment quick and easy
Cons
Cost more
I have read that the air tank makes noises
Bouncy ride?

That is pretty much what i know of these two right now. Im looking for your guys knowledge and opinion of either these suspensions.

The cost of an air suspsension greatly outweighs eibachs. I would go with the coilover. The good air ride systems I have seen are $2,000+. The compressor weighs more and makes noise. Coilovers aren't that hard to adjust, cost less, and give better handling.

Yeah i was leaning to the coil overs mostly.. they doo cost way less. Only thing i really liked about the air suspension was quick height adjustment.... and it would be wicked cool to show off haha.

Was hoping this post would shed some light on some more info on the two

I wouldn't even touch an Air ride suspension unless you were talking purely about a street rod/hot rod.

Coilovers aren't difficult at all to change right height, not to mention they are reliable, and they don't weight nearly as much.

I'd like to see what happens when one of those bag's pops under load. I know they say it doesn't happen, but a bag in my grandfathers street rod popped and it wasn't even under load. So yeah, no thanks, if it were me, I'd stay away.

I think that does it.. No air suspension for me

Does anyone recommend a brand? I am looking at the Eibachs because i have had their stuff before and proved to be good

If your going for a Coilover, you can go with Tokico D-specs I believe. They are really good shocks/struts.

I would look at Maximum Motorsports, they are by far the best in suspension products. I'm running their coil-over kit (slightly modified),

I had Air-Ride on my 72 Nova and it was amazing. It made the mustang feel like it was a truck. Handled like a modern modified track car at the autoX and floated like cotton candy on the freeway when I wanted a comfortable ride.

I sold that car for 18k unpainted so you can imagine how much $$ was into it. I weighed the price & gains for air ride for this car and it just didn't seem worth it. Considering when I sell this thing, I'll never get anything remotely close to what I put into it.

Obviously there's a lot more maintenance cost with Air Ride as well. You can't just "set it and forget it" like standard suspension.

{edit} Air Ride wouldn't be a good idea if you drag race because of the extra 100+ lbs on the car. so unless you're making a lot of extra power to compensate, if Drag Racing is your thing, i'd do what the other suggest and do a Standard suspension.
