that's why I put posi in quotes, people call the eaton unit a "posi" but I think it's a LSD. I may be wrong but when I think of a true posi I think of a locker or a spool.

gotcha, ill assume w.e this guy is recommending would be the right differential...this guy is a mustang specialist, former SVT mechanic for ford, and has had cars go to that pinks all out tournament and has race cars of his own, lol, this guy has been around, i just had to hear from someone other than the person doing the work that it was the right thing to do, i was hoping someone would hop on and say, o yea its not worth doing roll the dice, but thats just my cheap side talking lol

by all means you don't have to do it, just remember being cheap now may cost you more later. If you're okay with that then don't do it.

u sound exactly like the guy the way u say that haha... there is a fine line between being cheap and being stupid, i believe id be crossing it by not changing the axels lol. being cheap is like buying ibuprofen instead on motrin... being stupid is not changing your axels then blowing your rear end, lol. so ive pretty much made my decision at this point, im just gonna have to go get my price quotes from him again, ill be sure to run em by u so u can be happy with how much u saved by being mechanically inclined =] lol. thanks for all the help

actually I wouldn't tackle that job alone. Back then I had a roommate that did many gear swap, I was his helper. Don't forget to get some good sticky tires so you can launch that bitch. Pulling wheelies is fun.

I know alot of people with s/c cars and Drs who beat the dog **** out of there stock rear ends with no issues, I mean yes its going to break eventually if you keep beating it but, I wouldnt do it until it broke, just for the why not break what you got before your replace it theory.
