Default SCT Tuner HELP! =[

i just bought a tuner off of someone in my town and i feel like i wasted my money. it loaded onto my car fine, its just that the tunes that came on it must be terrible. it has " 87 91 and 93 octane" as the listed tunes. i tried all 3 of them and my car feels more sluggish =[ its upsetting. i think the guy before me must have had the car tuned and now i overroad his BETTER tune. help me =.[ i need some tunes but id like them to either be free or very cheap, lol, im trying to save up money to have my gears done (the whole reason i bought the tuner to begin with). the guy installing my gears said he will load me up with tunes when he does em, but i need something to hold me over til then! wake my car up pleaseeeee

Canned tunes = Crap

Your not going to find a tune for cheap or free. Modding a car is not cheap.

+ one-hundred forty nine million. get a dyno tune or do some reading and learn how to use the thing and make some timing adjustments.

I had a tune done in Houston, TX on and SCT 4 bank chip for $50. It was NOT a dyno tune, but the car feels as good as it ever has and I'm getting 21 mpg on the hwy. I did it mainly to get the shifts, it's an auto, right. The guys flashed I drove it, told them how it felt and they flashed it again. Did this about 5-6 times and about 1.5 hrs later, I left VERY happy. It can be done. BTW... you're gonna love the gears!

go to brenspeed.com and get a new tune. 1 tune is 70 and i believe 3 tunes is like 125. you pick the octane.. I just got a tune from Seth at Brenspeed and I felt a night and day difference.

This is my personal opinion and they send the file ll3(or ll something) to where you can edit the file for when you get a higher gear ratio.

Was the car owned by the fellow you bought the tuner from identical to yours--I.e. same year/make/model/PCM strategy and boxcode? If not then the problems you describe are because things are really screwed up.

I am not very familiar with the SCT system, however perhaps an SCT shop can send you some proper tunes. You may need to get a stock tune flashed at the dealership to get things straightened out.
