Default 3:73 Rear End

I have a 99 gt 4.6, with headers, plenum, throttle body and air flow. I'm thinking about putting in the 3:73 gears. At 55 mph 4th gear is at 2400 rpm. 5th gear is at 1600 rpm. Can anybody tell me if I put the 3:73's in, how many RPMs will I be picking up at 55mph? What type of performance should I get? What are the pros and cons to putting in the 3:73 gears? Thanks in advance.

Any gear is better than stock. I cant tell you exactly the rpm change, but I wouldnt worry about it. Just make sure you get the speedo corrected.

Pros: everything

Cons: nothing

Moral of this story...why the hell arent they in yet!?? lol

I'm thinking about going back down to 3:55's. Too much gear for my cheap tires, lol. And Never buy NT01's anyone they only last about 10 minutes on a car that makes power. *0)

What are you making for power 500 rwhp plus? It is funny you mentioned 3.55s as I am leaning towards them after my build and when I do my rear end. I like the idea of holding gear longer than a full second at WOT.

OP 4.10s are perfect gear even at 400 rwhp!

I love my 3.90's! It gives me just enough gear in the 1/4 mile.
