Default 6cd changer

I was listening to music in my car last night and after a cd was done playing it tried to move on to the next cd but wouldn't. I clicked the CD number on the head unit and it just made a bunch of clicking sounds. Tried loading a different CD and tried ejecting each CD but just got the same repeated clicking sounds for about 15 seconds then it would either say "CD error" or just displayed the load cd or eject cd screen but wouldn't actually do anything. Any ideas what's going on? I'm audio-stupid.

This has happend to me countless number of times. From now on I just keep 1 cd in their at a time. If it is not jammed check the cd for scratches or any other imperfections.

Yee
+1 the stackers are complete garbage. I keep a pair of the Specialty Tool removal rings in my box because it happens often enough to necessitate purchasing the tool. I can't tell you how many customers loose their CD's. I've taken a few apart and saved the discs, but it's so easy to damage them and difficult to remove, it's worth it to just purchase an aftermarket.

Don't dink around with them, not worth your time.

I have had the same issue several times with mine too, I have noticed that disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes will usually fix it, and reset the radio. But, it's a sign it's going to go soon. Mine does it about once a month now, looking to replace my Head Unit soon.

back when i had the 6disk i would keep a extra cd in my car that i would only use to poke at the jammed one until it came out.

i finally got smart and ditched the whole mach system, its junk and the amp rack is ridiculous.

when mine gets jammed ejecting and the little door is open and I can see the disc, I will just tap it lightly on the face as I hit eject and the disc usually comes right out

+1.....If you do a search in the audio section you will see this is a huge problem with that headunit.... Its not only mustangs it is every ford vehicle with that same junky 6 disc cd changer. Go aftermarket...unless you want to lose 6 of your favorite cds, which in the case ship them to me. I will take them off your hands.
