New Track times
Not much better, but my 2 best were 12.67 at 112.2 mph with a 1.966 60 ft and 12.697 at 112.22 mph with a 1.956 60 ft. My best 60 was 1.888 but the car would NOT go into 3rd so that run was like a 14 something.
These runs were with my M/T ET streets at 19 psi, my front tires at 35 psi, my new Ford Racing LCAs, and rear coil overs. Now with these parts/tires I should be cutting much better 60s and I don't know what the deal is. My last run (12.697) I launched at 5k. I don't know if I am feathering the clutch too much, not heating my tires up enough or what. Any input would be great.

I saw u there tn... Heat them up a little more, put the psi around 16. And let her eat...track was good tn too. What gear are u running? Doug said he talked to u, but I had to go before I got a chance to say anything
That's a pretty nice trap with that kind of power and 3.27's. If you were to go to a steeper gear, I would say to not go to high, I think that 3.73's would really put you at high 11's/low 12's without changing one thing, with better driving/air/track prep/lower tire pressure, I'd say it's capable of 12.1 where it sits.
There are some good guys on here when it comes to drag driving, I probably couldn't give you much advice, other than the fact that it sounds like your feathering the clutch just a little too much.
Which clutch are you running?

Wait, your running stock gears? Thats your problem right there man
Get some 373s in that car and slip the clutch at 4500. Also, you may have a MT on, but your still using a 17" rim... Not enough sidewall to cut great 60's

Right now I redline 3rd gear at the end of the 1/4 so I kind of was trying to avoid switching gears so I wouldn't have to shift. I may have to throw some 3.73s in there I guess, but I might just go to a built rear while I am at it.
AZ, its the stock clutch

I think if your still on the stock clutch, your probably feathering it out a bit much.
With a better, "grippier" clutch, you can put more power down while feathering out, it's slightly hard to explain.
I almost want to say that it's slipping a little bit while you're feathering it with the stock piece. but I can't be sure if that's the right terminology
You want to put the most power down as quickly as possible while staying on the edge of traction (I'm fairly positive that's the case for alot of racing, not just drags), so you want to find a balance between dead hooking, feathering the clutch, and just sidestepping the clutch.
It takes a lot of seat time to find that balance. But it does sound like if you drove the car a little harder that you'd be good for low low 12's
Also, it might not hurt to bump the 3rd gear limiter up 50-100RPMs so that you're not bouncing off of it at the line.
all of this is just brainstorming, so feel free to take it or leave it

i would sa throw some 3.73's in it and drop the psi down to like 11-12 and drop thr clutch at 3-4k and you shold get better 60's as long as those et are the bias ply not radials
if radial forget all the info lol
