Ok so me and my dad talked and were thinking why work on a motor that has 120K+ miles on it when we could just buy a racing built short block with 345hp for about 3k then put it all in for about 5k and hopefully make my goal of 400hp n/a thats exactly what i think we are going to do finally figured it out Im pretty happy

Different set of heads and nice set of cams will get you almost there.

its 345 at the flywheel.. not at the wheels. Hell a full bolt on car is generally around 320~ at the fly.

I would save the money on the crate motor.. those things are for lazy ppl who have no clue about anything IMO.

Well, i think crate motors have their place, they are great for project cars that start out with no drive-train. But i think hoss is right in this case to an extent, but i wont go as far as calling you lazy, i just think a full build from a short block and a nice H/C/I setup would yeild the results you are looking for. Either way, i agree that it may be a wise choice to yank the motor you have in there and start fresh, but by all means, build a new motor first, then swap them so you have no down time. Just my 2cents.

Well i was talking with me my dad and a guy who has an 11 second drag truck thats n/a and he was like i would junk that 4.6 and go to a 302 boss or a cobra motor or crate and then choose what i really want to do with this car, drag, street, so i'm probably going to be buying a cobra motor cause thats what im really looking at then ill build that up way above my expectations
