VT Stage 1 Cams
Ok im picking up a set of these and i just had a couple questions i know they say you dont have to replace valve springs but i have an 02 and it has right at 75,000 miles should i change them out due to the higher mileage i would rather not do it due to the pita of installation and the extra couple hundred bux of course just want to get a few opinions anyone with these cams chime in and also does anybody know of anybody in the St. Louis area that does good tunes?

The main response you will get is "DO THEM." The heads are already apart so you might as well take the time to do it. Plus it is a good piece of mind to swap them out knowing that the springs will stand up to what the cams ur putting in do.

I think you should for any aftermarket cams. Your stock motor components are designed to work with other stock components, when you start to change things like cams out it is best to change the springs out to. It only adds a little more stress with a stage 1, but better to do it once than do it later and pay more after a problem occurs.
Just my .02

First of all, VT DOESN'T MAKE PARTS ANYMORE. Cushman (CMS) now makes the same grind as the VT's used to have.
Second, if your gonna tear it down and be in there you might as well just get the stage 2's and upgrade your springs. As far as having aftermarket heads to the see the full potential, you are right. BUT, your gonna need aftermarket heads to see the FULL potential of any mod that you do. Even with stock heads you will get more HP from a stage 2 than a stage 1, not to mention a better sound/lope.
