What size gears should i get for my 2000 GT? i was thinking 4.10's, this way i can get the jump i want and just go. does anyone have any suggestions? and what are the stock gears in my car currently, i have heard different sizes and,i am just trying to figure out how big of a jump i will be making. Thanks

i had 3:90s which seemed to be a good compomise between 4:10 and 3:73.

most people are gonna swear by 4:10s, but let me tell ya if you dont race a lot or at least drive your car hard a lot then u might wanna look at 3:73s, that way you wont be shifting every 5 seconds. i even got annoyed sometimes with my 3:90s after b/c of the constant shifting in traffic and around town.

There was 3 different gear ratios in the stock GT's 2:73, 3:08, & 3:27. There should be a tag on your dif cover saying what you have in the car. That is if someone didn't already change the gears or it didn't get ripped of buy one of the techs at the dealership.

It really depends on you and what your future plans are for the car! What kind of mods do you plan on?...is it your daily driver?...etc!

Like JJ03 i run 3.90's, and i love them, but my mustang is not my daily driver.

Your car should have 3:27 's. I have 4:10 's and really like them. They definitely help the fun factor. My car's just a fair weather toy though. Good luck.

I have 4.10's and while they do get annoying in traffic, I wouldn't swap them out for anything less...ie 3.73's or 3.90's.

i have 4.10s and would never go back. I love them. I still get good fuel mileage on the highways and in the city unless i drive like a happy-*** retard flooring it constantly.
