Default Nitto 555r extreme performance

Im getting new tires. I wanted a good tire but one that lasted longer. I wanted to get dr's again but ill be commuting to college tomorrow so i wanted something that was gonna longer. Has anyone had any experience with the nitto extreme performance tires? Not the drag radials. Just the extreme performance. And the size is 315x35x17. Has anyone had any experience with the nitto extreme performance tires?

the 555r's are drag radials. Don't be scared, and hear is why... I commuter for 6 years on 315/35-17 Nitto Drag Radials, never had an issue (as far as rain, etc) they usually last me around 12k miles (with some street/strip use) which isn't bad. And when they were pretty bald I'd pull them on eBay and sell the pair for ~$100 + shipping. I've sold every set that I had on my car and always put the money towards a new set. That's one thing you CAN'T do with a regular street tire!

Sorry not the 555r just 555. I know about the drag radials lol. I have them now. I want something thats gonna last me longer. i didnt wanna pay for new tires next year already. I drive a lot. I put on over 20000 since i got my car last january. So was looking for a decent tire that laster longer. I love my drs cause they are so sticky but i dont love them enough to replace them every year lol. Which is why i was looking at just the 555's cause they have a 300 rating. Im gonna be making some runs to the track too. So i figured the 555's were a good fit for me.

i have the 555's on all 4 corners. fronts i've had for 2 years and are wearing on the inside edge but that's because my tires weren't running on the right psi, but the insides look like they still got about another 2 years left. definitely get those tires. oh and i've put about 25K miles on them if that helps

With your power level and gearing, I'd suggest something a bit softer if you want any grip in first. I'm in the same boat right now. I'm considering the "in between tires": Kumho XS, Nitto NT05 and Falken RT615. The Kumho comes in a 315/30/18 but I feel weird about the name on my car. I dig The NT05 tread, but it's molded at 6/32nds. The Falken 315/30/18 in on intergalactic backorder right now....

I'm leaning toward the Kumhos.....

I like my 555's, but if I had to do it again I would go with the NT05's. I've been reading a lot of good reviews on them online. MM&FF did a little article on them and they preferred them over the 555 and the 555r's. They gave really good comments on the wet traction and the lack of road noise, 2 qualities that the 555 series don't have.

the only reason i was leaning away from the nt05s is because i have a 50$ gift certificate and the mf discount code for american muscle and of course those arent on there lol. Ill tell you right now if the nt 05s were on american muscle i would by them right now.
