Default How much HP is too much?

For a daily driver? I want to have as good reliability as stock with normal gas mileage under normal conditions.

WTF?!?! If i could, i would each through this computer screen and slap you!!!!

J/K!! i would have to say <500. Just depends on alot of things... If you dont mind spending a little extra on gas every month, if you are going to build the motor,ect....
you could actually get 600+ out of her and drive it daily. Your gas milage wont be that great but who cares....
Just remember, The more hp/tq you make, the less reliable the car becomes.

Been running 600+ for more than a year now, I get more than 17-18mpg in the city, and 30mpg on the highway.

There is no limit to hp for a daily driver, it's all in your right foot

Oh, and reliability is just in the quality parts you use. I havn't had to replace something major in over six months, and of course i've had a few smaller problems, but doing most of the work myself, it's nothing more than a days worth of work

I would try and keep it between 350 and 500 for the sake of reliability.

I bet my clutch feels lighter than yours

Mccleod Twin Disk FTGDMFW

it's semi-expensive, but if you're talking 600+rwhp, you're already talking about pretty expensive stuff anyway

Honestly, After driving a S197 (with the hydraulic clutch), I can say that mine is very comparative to that clutch, or about the same of my 1995 Nissan Sentra's clutch (cable clutch)

I'm putting my wifes car at 400rw, maybe more if she wants it later on. I'm going to be happy with 600rw. (when I get to it, that is.)

I don't know how you guys deal with DD's with that amount of horsepower. I'm mostly stock and I even hate driving my girl in the rain, it just doesn't feel safe. Although, I'm used to my Audi A4 Quarto, daily driver, where I can do like 60 in the snow and not even think about it...Although, many of you may not have to deal with snow. Audi FTW!

I drive my car everyday rain, snow or shine. My clutch is very light (spec stage 1). My gas mileage has barely changed from when the car is stock unless I go into boost alot. I haven't had anything break yet. I am bored with my power level and will be bumping it up over the next couple of months. The day I hit 1500rwhp will be when I won't drive the car on the street every day.
