Default Quick transmission question

I drove a 2004 GTO a minute ago, I know... its a chevy, but I need to get a car quick and cant find the right mustang. Anyways, its an automatic and at idle it vibrates just a little. It also has an IRS so I dont know if that has anything to do with it but tell me what you think. Please disreaguard the fact that it has an ls1 lol.

....are you asking a tech question about a GM car in a Mustang TECH section? Try a GM forum.

Ha. Yeah I know its a ford tech forum and I knew I would get a few answeres like that but you guys have had some pretty good input whenever I have a question. Besides, its a pretty general transmission question. An automatic mustang could do the same exact thing. Never mind the question though, I looked at it again and found some ripples in the paint... looks like some bodywork has been done. A Mach 1 is still my first priority but I cant find any in my area that arent $18K + Its kinda starting to look like I could get a 2005 GTO for under 15K so I will hop right on that. Sorry... Its always been a toss up for me when it comes to Ford and Chevy lol.

be patient. The right Mustang will come. Just wait. Dont jump into anything. If a mach is your first priority which it SHOULD. Just wait, it'll come. Look the states that surround washington up on autotrader and see what they have. I remember i wish i would have waited and drove down to Ohio for one. I remember Ohio had so many good deals. So maybe some of your surrounding states will have something good for you if you dont mind driving a couple of hours. This is an investment you will be living with for a long time. So dont get somethign you really dont want. Wait for the mach.

I know I wish I could wait a little longer... I am driving my dads 04 lightning for now and guess what? He wants it back lol! Imagine that. Ive been looking for about 2 months now and he says my deadline is the end of the month... I will own a Mach 1 in my lifetime ( Im only 18 ) im sure of that but I will end up with what I end up with I guess. An Ls2 with a 6 spd aint all that bad anyways right? Lol. Ford will always be number 1 but I might end up with a Chevy.

Is this in park?

the transmission is disengaged in park at idle anyway so that shouldnt matter...

The transmission cant really make the car shake as far as I know.

Maybe its cause its pushrod and thats just how it idles?

I finally got a Mach 1 after being initially temped by them when they first came out and always admiring them for years afterwards.

A Mach 1 is definitely worth the wait. Hopefully, you won't have to wait that long. Good luck.

Your 18, find some 4 banger to drive around so dad can have his lightning back and just keep your eyes peeled for that Mach 1.

search autotrader nationwide. You can have a car shipped anywhere for 1000$ ish lol, so if you find one for 4k less in another state and have it shipped you are still ahead of the game. theres a few nice mach 1s by me going for 12-14k. just my 2cents. Good luck!
