Default Too tall a tire?

I finally got some DRs for the track. I found a good deal on some 325/45/17 M&H racemasters that are mounted on some 17x9 Bullitts. I used these at the tack this past weekend along with some new rear control arms and was able to shave a tenth off my 60ft (1.98 to 1.88) and .12 off my ET (13.72 to 13.60) over using my Sumitomos with stock control arms.

With the mild bolt-ons in my sig, are these M&Hs too tall a tire for my car?

29" tall...its a little big yea....a nice sticky 26 would be much better for you, on a 15" wheel so you can still have some sidewall

I would say that is not too much tire since you have 4.10's, but N/A with full bolt ons, a 26" tire would be a lot better, so I would switch to those next time you buy some. What tire pressure are you running?

Get you some good shocks/struts to help weight transfer. If all you want is drag racing, then get some cheap lakewoods, or get Strange 10-way's if you want adjustability.

Oh and those 325 M&H's run narrow, they arent any wider than a 275 M/T.

Wow are those 29"? I thought they were 28's. Yeah 29" is way too big for a bolt on GT.

I thought they might be a bit tall. They look great since they fill in the wheel well nicely! AND they are definitely on the narrow side (they are narrower than my 275 Sumitomos that I run on the front).

I ran them at about 17psi this past weekend. They hooked great and made me bog down some after launch until I got used to them.

I guess I will keep an eye out for some shorter DRs. I think I know of a few peeps that can use these to their full potential.

Yeah the taller tire is cancelling a lot of the 4.10 benefit. 26" tall tires are best for your application.

that is a 28" tire which is too tall for his setup. That actually looks better than I though, do you have a complete side view of the car?

way too big for you hp level. you need nothing bigger than a 26" tire. you could even get away with a 27", but really need a 26. get some 15" wheels, if your a cheap bastard like me then summitstars are for you, if you have a lil dough to spend the go with weld or bogart b/c they will give you more sidewall thus helping your launch and getting those times down
