Default Trickflow plenum..good mod.

So I was itching to do something to my car, but didn't have much money to do anything, so I got a Trickflow plenum for $105 and figured I'd give that a shot. I left the stock TB. I read once upon a time that the stock plenum was the weaker of the two. finish quality of the piece was so-so, but then again I don't really give a rip what it looks like. Fitment was flawless. I gotta say that's a damn nice mod for 100 bucks. Definitely not another CAI type mod, which I thought was completely pointless. Motor after the plenum install is noticeably more lively. Does it pull all that much harder? Well not really, but in a way it really gives me the sensation that it pulls stronger down low, I guess just from the fact that the throttle response is so much better. So if you've got 100 bucks laying around, I'd recommend it.

Well if there was a reason to get a new plenum in the future, this was the one I have been looking at for a long time.

Thanks for the info.

I was planning on upgrading the plenium and TB at the same time.
I want to go with the TF plenum and the 75mm TB.

The thing im wondering is would I need a tune if I go with the 75mm where stock is 65mm.

Good Buy IMO for 100 bucks

I have thought about doing this as well. I have heard several times that the stock throttle body is just fine. Although I think I have heard that the stock plenum is fine as well....whatever. I am just itching to spend some money somewhere on my car, I just don't have said money.

I don't think you'd need a tune. I don't recall really reading where anyone had installed a larger TB and had any issues where a tune was needed, but I'm not 100%.

you dont need a tune for the tb but if you got a tune you would get more ponies out of it and +1 to silver and grey, mods do add up.

Here's my annotated version of Accufab's TB and plenum flow numbers. The OEM plenum is the weaker link of the OEM setup...
